Experienced Psychiatrist, Wayne Macfadden, MD

 

Wayne Macfadden MD, a Board-certified Psychiatrist, possesses upwards of 25 years of experience as both a Researcher in pharmaceutical companies and Clinical Psychiatrist. The co-owner of International Psychiatric Services and current Psychiatrist at Spirit Lake Reservation in North Dakota, Wayne Macfadden MD, has also served at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Global Medical Institute in Princeton, NJ, Johnson & Johnson, and Novartis over the course of more than 25 years.

In preparation for his work, Dr. Macfadden received a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from the City College of New York and an MD from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. He trained in internal medicine at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, NY for one year and subsequently spent three years as a Resident in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

During this time, he became a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the National Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1991, and with Added Qualification in Addiction Psychiatry, which he earned in 1993.

Beyond his clinical and pharmaceutical research roles, Wayne Macfadden MD, has leveraged his extensive experience and training to serve in various academic capacities. For nearly 10 years at the beginning of his career, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. Further, he served on the Human Subjects Subcommittee of the Philadelphia VA for eight years, evaluating and participating in research studies.
